Job Overview

• Job Title: Manufacturing General Laborer
• Department: Production / Assembly
• Reports To: Production Supervisor
• Employment Type: Full-Time / Part-Time

A manufacturing general laborer helps keep the production floor running safely and smoothly. This hands-on role involves assembling products, loading and unloading materials, operating basic machinery, and keeping the workspace clean. [1, 2]

Key Responsibilities

• Production Support: Feed raw materials into machinery and assembly lines. Assist machine operators with daily tasks. [1, 2]
• Assembly & Packaging: Assemble parts accurately using basic hand tools or following work instructions. Package finished goods safely for shipment. [1, 2, 3]
• Quality Control: Inspect finished items for visible defects or damage. Report any equipment problems or bad parts to the supervisor right away. [1, 2, 3, 4]
• Plant Cleanliness: Sweep, remove waste, and maintain a clean and safe workspace. [1]
• Material Handling: Move inventory and supplies around the warehouse using pallet jacks or hand trucks. [1, 2]

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: High school diploma or GED is preferred, but not always required.
• Physical Strength: Ability to stand, bend, and walk for long shifts. Ability to lift heavy objects (frequently up to 50 lbs).
• Work Ethic: Reliable, punctual, and able to follow written or verbal instructions.
• Team Player: Good communication skills and a willingness to help coworkers.
