In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of steam systems within industrial and commercial environments. You will inspect, test, maintain, and repair boilers and associated equipment, continuously monitoring system performance to uphold safety and efficiency standards. Using technical drawings and diagnostic tools, you will identify and resolve mechanical and system issues, performing both preventative maintenance and emergency repairs on boilers, pumps, valves, piping, and steam systems. You will ensure full compliance with CSD1 regulations, state boiler codes, and union safety standards, while maintaining accurate maintenance logs and documentation. Working collaboratively with engineers and plant personnel, you will help optimize system performance and respond effectively to emergency calls and system shutdowns as needed.What you need to qualify?Completion of a Steamfitter or Pipefitter Apprenticeship Program (union preferred)Active membership in, or ability to join, the local Steamfitters UnionUnderstanding of high-pressure steam systems is preferred, and the ability to read blueprints is requiredMinimum 5 years of experience working with industrial/commercial boiler systemsStrong problem-solving and teamwork skillsPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift 50+ lbs and work in confined or elevated spacesComfortable working in high-temperature environmentsAbility to perform physical labor for extended periodsCompensation & BenefitsWages and benefits per Steamfitters Union Collective Bargaining AgreementPaid training and advancement opportunitiesOvertime opportunitiesBy joining Ahern, you'll gain the stability of a company that's been a leader in the industry since 1880, the pride of doing meaningful work, and the support of a team dedicated to your success.
